NOTA

NOTA stands none of the above .A right recently introduced by the Election Commission of India .A right to voters to indicate the  disapproval of  the candidates standing at that constituency. On 27 September 2013, the Supreme Court of India ruled that the right to register a "none of the above" vote in elections should apply, noting that it would increase participation. The judges said that this "would lead to a systemic change in polls and political parties will be forced to project clean candidates". "Democracy is all about choices and voters will be empowered by this right of negative voting," said the order passed by a bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam. Most of us in youth don't know which people are standing as the people representatives in election happening at our locality and their work until election comes. It is our moral duty to elect a appropriate person to power for upliftment of the locality in which we live.I strongly believe it the grass root representation which would change India into a developed country the term which we are hearing till now .I as an Indian feel WE are a developed country but we have to show the world also .
The nota rule is an impressive option given to us.It can be said as power to reject. It was one Sunday when my dad said about it.He said it was in paper also.Newspaper the thing we look into it is last papers that are sports news and a supplementary edition in which gossip news are there. So one  day it took me interest to know more about nota and share the knowledge about it.Most of the democratic countries have this option .Now India have also joined it. It will seen in electronic machines or the so called ballot machine the nota option.I know my information may not be up to mark but i feel i might enlighten all with a piece of information as i its moral duty to share knowledge according to me.It would be great to bring this idea in grass root level like into college election etc. There are many question arising like What if nota votes are more ??What weight age do the votes cast for NOTA signify if at all?An interesting question poses itself with the option. Let us assume 40% of total voters turn out for voting in a given constituency and more than 50% vote for ‘None of the above.’ This leaves 20% of votes behind to be then distributed between 4 or so candidates. Let us again assume that the candidate with the most votes manages to garner 10% votes- others bagging less. The question that comes to mind is: Is the candidate with 10% of total votes cast in his favour legally and morally the winner of the contest? There may many such questions arising. It will be time the answer to these questions. As off know it is positive news and to accept the rule ordered by Supreme court and implemented by The Election commission of India.
